sunburn yang berbaloi

it's worth it! because we are the champion.

all the stress and marah-marah and air liur and what not. it paid off.

The challenge doesn't just stop at merely guiding them. I am the baby sitter also, the motivator. It's like many-many roles combined into one. One word to sum it up. A teacher.

Before the finals this morning, I even have to go to one of my player's house to talk to the dad to let her play with the team. Well, the concerned parent is worried that their daughter is gonna sit for PMR this year that they want her to stay in class and study. So, I had to put on my diplomatic cap to negotiate with the parent. Luckily, I succeed. Phew!

We are underdogs actually, I never put any expectations for my team to win. But, I only ask one thing from them that is to play well. I also advice them to always have positive thoughts inside of their head and avoiding all the negative vibe.

I am happy to inspire them and to get the massive hugs from 7 players right after the finishing whistle was blown. It was a memorable moment. biar pun semua bau peluh.

I almost cried but still gotta maintain the composure of a garang coach. Haha
Well, the roles are reversed now. I used to be one of the girls in the team. I used to wear the same skirt that they are wearing. Seriously, the same exact skirt back in 1998 and 1999.

I still remember clearly the same blue skirt and the red-blue jersey that one of the girl is wearing in the picture.

Vintage to the max. I wonder why the school never ganti the skirt.

Now, I am living my life like the One Tree Hill punya story. Haha. Where everyone is grown up and some of the kids go back to their own school and coach the team which they used to be part of. Konon la.

In the meantime, I am still nursing my sunburnt skin. It's hurting and itching all over la. Cessss!

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

and my skin is hurting all over. Arms, neck, face... mulut pun terbakar.

Netball and the sun - sigh! Even though this game should be played indoors, some still play it on the field because it is nearly impossible to have a court indoors in Tuaran.

The team I coached made it to the finals. So, fingers crossed to winning it.

This sunburn better be worth it.

Okay. so today must blog. I can't afford to wait until everything is done then only I will blog because that's never gonna happen. Haha.

And if I do wait, this blog will cease to exist.

So, last school holiday, I so to happen to be in KL when Zee Avi had her concert there. I was not planning to attend one until I realized that her concert date actually coincide with the time that I am gonna be there for my sister's convo. So red-tix it la..haha

At Live KL it was. I thought it was some new building that I haven't heard of because from the look of the place in their website, it was awesome. Manatau it is at the same building where TGIF is. Cess...susah payah lagi mau cari map konon.

We arrived there at 630pm and the queue was building up. Decided to hang around for a while at TGIF and gosh!!! the queue was really-really long! And we ended up being one of the last people to enter.

I was not really in the mood to be squeezed and squashed with the big crowd in front of the stage. So stay at the back saja la to watch. Somehow, still can listen what.

The evening was hosted by Aaron of Biggest Loser Asia. Remember the only Malaysian who made it to the final four. He is a funny guy la. Tony Fernandes were there also that night. He sat at the VIP table together with Zee Avi's dad.

Zee Avi came out with her drummer and her bassist and sang Poppy for her opening number. I think the crowd is a bit 'malas' lah that night. Not everyone really sing along with her. Only her songs like Bitter Heart, Honey Bee and of course Kantoi got the most participation.

She sang like 7 or 8 songs only. The show lasted about an hour. I think.

Anyway, her voice is amazing. Something fresh and different. No wonder she could get so much attention just by posting her videos on the net. Somehow, personally, I think that night can be much better if she had backing vocals to accompany her songs so that things won't sound so 'empty' at times. Haha. Now I don't feel I am qualified to make that statement. Hehe.

So, Zee Avi if you do need backup vocals, cari JADEsisters okay.hahahahaha..( nda malu promote ni kunun.cesssss )

p.s: Seriously today memang a kantoi day also la. I skipped assembly and thanks to the celupar-ness of my colleague, my boss dapat tahu.. cis!!!

Rabu yang Haru

Breathing is the most important action of a human being. EVER!

One of my way to control my temper too. Damn, I am not-very-the-patient these days. If I were to be a volcano, I will be the most active one. Shooting out lava every single minute. Then die fast also. Haha.

Anyway, this week and next week gonna be so tiring. Today also, at this very moment, I felt so beaten up.

I woke up 6.30am today, and will be at school to coach the netball team ( 7-9 am ).

Came back home, get lunch ready, housework, get ready to school and 12noon I am off to work. 12-5.30pm is working hour but need to go and see the netball team also. 4-5.30pm.

By 6pm at the gym and by 8pm will be at Latin dance class till 930pm.

Drove home, with all the energy I have left. Why la Tamparuli have to be so far from KK?

PANAT!!!!!!!! tidur dulu lah... and I must sleep with the thought that I am a Wonder Woman.

I CAN DO ANYTHING.. hahaha. punya la itu optimism.

Back in the game

Yes, I am back to Borneo and back to reality. Gosh, reality check. Damn! March is almost over.

Somehow, I am quite content with a new skill of mine. Haha. The skill of not-caring-too-much-and-not-to-be-so-nosey. WTH??? LOL!

I iz veli scared I age faster than I should bah. Huhu. So must be ignorant la.

In the meantime, I got my hands tied with things that I haven't finish prior the school holidays. So, a blog post on Zee Avi's concert is the next one in the list of things to do after my workload list.

So, sabar ah.

Oh ya, anyone going for Twestival KK happening this 25th March? I am still contemplating. Huhu.

Mau muntah

Muntah hijau sudah. Tolerance level of SS pictures have reached its maximum level.

SS pictures :

referring to the pictures taken by oneself by either
a) enlarging the eyes like its gonna fall out of the socket but still they think its kawaii - Duh!
b) pursing the lips like a duck thinking that it looked cute
c) ah, malas mau elaborate... you will know when you see one.

I mean. Seriously?

Ok, it is not wrong first of all because after all it is your facebook page. But the whole album with around 100 pictures is ALL the SAME pose, SAME clothes some more. I am not a very good photographer myself but I will do a photo shoot for you for free is you wish. Ok, the photo shoot part I am kidding la. Haha.

There are only a few conditions that I can tolerate this. ( because I sometimes can be vain too, but not THAT vain )

Just a few tips for those who wants to put this into display especially in Facebook.

1) Make sure you really look like some japanese/korean chic --> get your yourself a real mirror, no i mean not the mirror inside your room, mirror as in some second opinion from others. If you don't then, keep it to the minimum.

2) Just, I seriously, wanna say, JUST DO NOT post the whole album of yourself taken with the same pose, same clothes, same make up, same place, plus just a slight movement.

3) Lastly, set the album private, or just don't tag me. please. Exclude me from the eyesore.

Again, seriously, the whole album ( around 100 pictures ) with the same pose? ARGHHHHHHHH!!!

Saya muntah lagi, the thought of it in my head can make me nauseous sudah.

Sushi Battlefield

Where: Sushi King @ Warisan Square
Time : Lunch time
Why : Because every plate of sushi is only RM2

First Challenge: Gotta queue up right before you can reach the entrance

Second Challenge: Must be patient even though the stomach is already screaming

Third Challenge: Gotta be very alert of your surroundings. This is because

a) The sushi on the kaiten belt is replenished every 15 mins
b) The red plates and purple plates are the first one to vanish
c) Everyone is hungry and everyone's eyes inside the restaurant has the eyes of an eagle in order to locate salmon based sushi.

Fourth Challenge: Trying not to laugh at others when your hand is the faster one to reach out for the most sought after sushi. Hahahaha!

Our location just now was the best because its where they put the sushi(s) after they take it out from the kitchen.

Result: Me and my sisters managed to finish about 38 plates of sushi which costs around RM63

We actually targeted 50 plates.

Tapi mau mati sudah makan....ahahahaha. Perempuan-perempuan yang kuat makan semua. Bikin malu betul oh

5 letter word that can change one life. The power to stay focused in doing something can turn something from ordinary to extra ordinary. Just a thing that I need to be a super-woman.

~ Ugh! Saya lapar! ( -> memang statement yang tiada kaitan )

On another unrelated issue..

Friends requests

I was going through my friends requests list. This always give me a hard time skimming through the names.

How I choose the people I want to approve or not?

1) Name ( if unidentified, then go straight to number 2 )
2) Picture ( if unidentified as well, to number 3 )
3) Info ( try to find where in the world, me and the unknown-person-who-tried-to-be-my-friend had crossed path before )
4) Last but not least, its the mutual friends ( in hope that some of these connections will ring a bell)

If all the four criteria are not met. Click ignore button. hahahaha.

Well, I do have people who have fulfill all the 4 criteria but I just can't click the accept button because I don't want these people to pry into my private life through Facebook ( eg: Students, or Boss, or mereka-mereka dan keluarga mereka ). Just the same issue with si Chegu Carol juga bah.

Bukan sumbung bah tapi tu lah ada kepentingan yang perlu dijaga. Kan???

And it will be better I think for some to just drop me a line or two because there are times that I seriously don't know who you are because of your fancy names.

Out of the dictionary names

Oh gosh, I can talk about this the whole day. First of all, I want to ask these people. WHY????

I mean some people do change their names on Facebook using some common names that people will still can recognize them. I know, because me myself wouldn't want to use my full name as in the ID card to be my profile name.

But, ( random example ah, bukan memburukkan nama orang tertentu, kalau ada yang terngam-ngam, I am very the sorry! )

Cocopie, Melz CutesZZzzZZzz, Takeshi Hensemz, Iam the Butod, Yakuza Gin, TheGReatZZzzz, Lovely GurlZ Cinta, Nyamuks CutieZZzz dan lain-lain lagi yang sewaktu dengannya..

Seriously, you have identity crisis is it?????

Ok, that's all. Thank you very much

Queen of Hearts

The cold heart belongs to no one.

I watched Alice in the Wonderland. Damn, tickets are quite hard to get. Reached 1B after lunchtime. But the 245pm show was sold out! Have to settle for the 455pm show, and hey 3 hours to kill.

In the cinema, a lot of kids!!!!

And the funniest thing is when Alice killed the Jabberwocky, the kids applauded. Haha.

Lovin' the poetic scripts in the movie yet again there are moments that I wanted to fall asleep. Maybe it's not the movie, i am just tired.

On another note, school holiday project. I bought this jigsaw puzzle at Daiso. I am not a jigsaw puzzle person btw, but it's Marilyn Monroe.

I have been hunting for posters of vintage art or faces of vintage stars. ( Audrey Hepburn is next on the list ). Don't fancy dead people face on your wall? They are legends. So, I don't mind that. Haha

In progress, with the help of my sisters. ( Err, most of the work done by them, haha, I did the lips part only..)

I thought it's gonna take a whole week to finish it but it's done within a few hours..and it get all framed up now.

school hols...maybe not

weekdays wrap up, just because it's Friday today.

It is basically like this..

AM- as early as 7am, netball training
- housework, cook lunch
Noon - work
PM- gym ( well some days i may missed it because I was too exhausted )

it has not been a good week for me. i am super volatile.

you do your work, and i do mine. and no one gets hurt.

nothing really help these days. every time i feel angry, i want to resort to violence. damn. stay away please.

Take a break and smile because the school hols is about to start?

I wanna smash your head with a bottle now. Don't ever give me that advice. I am still very much pissed off now.

Keeping Up!

I just can't keep up with the pace.

Someone screwed my path. Something screwed the path.

Someone halted the momentum. Something halted the momentum.

I can't keep up. HELP.

A smile

I am surrounded by many people around me. Good people. Happy people. I see people around me. But why do I feel there's a huge void inside of me?

Lonely is the word maybe.

Everyday it is a solitary journey

Happiness just don't happen like that although many say it is an option.

I kept myself busy and occupied until I got burnt out at the end of the day just to make sure I don't realize the void there.

Bad vibes and negative thinking as well as pessimistic thoughts; it kept on charging in.

Sometimes I just wished I never set my foot back to my hometown after I graduated and start my career in another line.

I just want to smile again. A real smile, real happy thoughts from inside.

it's bad for health

the little things or the worrying part?

I do not know. For one thing I know, I can't feel my head right now.

So many things to think about. Or maybe I care too much.

Ignorance and selfishness could be a good thing this time around.

RM6 breakfast

Teh C Ping
Fried Mee Hoon
Fried Chicken Wing
Siew Mai

= RM 6

Hmmmm... Inflation kan? Sabah's food price is crazy!

But given the fact that food and goods here are expensive, and people still buy it ( because they don't really have a choice ).

Therefore I can assume that Sabahans are all very rich people. Hahahaha..

Kaya kan kita semua?

biggest loser asia

owh really? let's try then

Joan not in the wonderland

Today, I faced Monday with much courage and zest.

I even made a declaration that I am gonna be a dedicated teacher today.

Well, at least I made it to work on time today. That's quite an achievement.

But, some spoiler to the spirit.....

i) it was so hot during assembly, my head was throbbing and one of the teacher giving announcement is talking way too much

ii) i walked out of the hall, i tripped and my sandal putus!

iii) lucky got extra shoes in my car, but it was burning hot to walk to the car park. damn

iv) one of the class i teach today acting like barbarians and I snapped.. Major meltdown. I was shaking with anger and almost throw a chair to the students.

v) I just walk away in the end

Boiling with anger. Head throbbing. Eyes also sakit. Well, it is so wrong to complain a lot. Somehow, given the list of things to do. I pretend to be blind right now.

Netball selection, Youth Program, Church activities, Lent & Easter programs, Exam papers, Lesson plan.Meetings... and the list goes on.

Which reminds me tomorrow 7am. Netball training.

Until then, I would like to think that I am a super-woman.

Above All

Something to listen to in order to survive Monday

Monday in a few minutes

Minutes away from the clock striking midnight and hey it's Monday again. Gosh! One of the day that I dreaded most.

1) School day. Need I say more?
2) Lotsa errands to do and it is reality week again.

I have not been blogging like regularly anymore these days.

Plainly lazy.

Hey, it is not new right?

Joan = Lazy. Joan Lazy. I think it should be my second name.

Moreover every time I started typing something, I will be facing the laptop and my mind went blank. Very un-inspired.

Too much things going in my head but I just can't put it into words.

Okay, enough crap. Yada-yada-yada.

Updates for the past few days

1) Performed at My Story ( 5th Edition ) on last Sunday - will definitely blog about it later. If saya rajin la.
2) Sukan MSSD Tuaran - I was the physiotherapist . Haha. the not qualified one though. Pictures will be up soon in facebook.

3) Sunburned and burned out from the heat and responsibility

4) Tamparuli panas

5) Sabah panas

6) Hari-hari panas

And seriously, I need to sleep in the refrigerator tonight.

Very kesian kan, room no aircon bah!

Glory to Glory!

Happy Sunday everyone!

hiatus mode

copy and paste post. but it is still worth the read

To the men : warn your loved ones!
To the women : remember this!

About a month ago there was a woman standing by the Mega Mall entrance passing out flyers to all the women going in. The woman had written the flyer herself to tell about an experience she had, so that she might warn other women.

The previous day, this woman had finished shopping, went out to her car and discovered that she had a flat. She got the jack out of the trunk and began to change the flat. A nice man dressed in business suit and carrying a briefcase walked up to her and said,

'I notice you're changing a flat tire. Would you like me to take care of it for you?'

The woman was grateful for his offer and accepted his help. They chatted amiably while the man changed the flat, and then put the flat tire and the jack in the trunk, shut it and dusted his hands off.

The woman thanked him profusely, and as she was about to get in her car, the man told her that he left his car around on the other side of the mall, and asked if she would mind giving him a lift to his car. She was a little surprised and asked him why his car was on the other side. He explained that he had met an old friend in the mall whom he hadn't seen for some time and they had a bite to eat and visited for a while; he got turned around in the mall and left through the wrong exit, and now he was running late and his car was clear around on the other side of the mall.

The woman hated to tell him 'no' because he had just rescued her from having to change her flat tire all by herself, but she felt uneasy. Then she remembered seeing the man put his briefcase in her trunk before shutting it and before he asked her for the ride to his car.

She told him that she'd be happy to drive him to his car, but she just remembered one last thing she needed to buy. She said she would only be a few minutes; he could sit down in her car and wait for her; she would be as quick as she could be. She hurried into the mall, and told a security guard what had happened; the guard came out to her car with her, but the man had left.

They opened the trunk, took out his locked briefcase and took it down to the police station. The police opened it (ostensibly to look for ID so they could return it to the man). What they found was rope, duct tape and knives.

When the police checked her 'flat' tire, there was nothing wrong with it; the air had simply been let out. It was obvious what the man's motive was, and obvious that he had carefully thought it out in advance.

The woman was blessed to have escaped harm. How much worse it would have been had she waited in the car while the man fixed the tire, or if she had a baby strapped into a car seat. Or if she'd gone against her judgment and given him a lift. I'd like you to forward this to all the women you know.

It may save a life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle. I was going to send this to the ladies only; but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc., you may want to pass it on to them as well.

Send this to any woman you know that may need to be reminded that the world we live in has a lot of crazies in it.... better safe than sorry.
