the poorest sportmanship displayed in beijing olympics

Oooow...that seriously hurts!

He was on one minute injury time out and past 60 secs, he was not on his feet yet. Technically he lost la.

So, this Cuban exponent was not satisfied. He threw a tantrum by injuring the referee.

*Bad-bad sportsmanship.*

All this happen during the bronze model match between Cuba's Angel Valodia Matos at the end of a bronze medal match against Kazakhstan's Arman Chilmanov in the the men's taekwondo +80 kilogram class. And if he did want to protest, he should have done it according to the rules.

*I guess he is no "Angel" after all*

Matos kicked Swedish judge Chakir Chelbat in the head as coaches from both teams ran on to the mat to dispute the result. The Cuban was leading 3-2 in the second period of the contest when Matos stopped to receive treatment for a foot injury. Competitors are allowed a one minute period to treat injuries, and when this time elapsed the referee awarded the contest to Chilmanov.

After a heated exchange on the mat, Matos pushed the match referee and then caught the Swedish judge in the head with a high kick. Matos then spat on the floor was promptly dragged from the scene by his back-room staff.

Matos and his coach were almost immediately slapped with a lifetime ban from all World Taekwondo Federation championships for the outburst, which the WTF called "a strong violation of the spirit of taekwondo and the Olympics." -source

watching olympics grand opening

yes I am watching it right now. The very historic 08.08.08. What the FATT! *meaning eight in chinese*

Now, all the countries are marching in one by one.

  • some of the countries name I never heard...*those ending in -tans or some islands, is really something new*
  • barriers of culture and physical boundaries become seamless in this event *just like Miss Universe or Miss World paegant*
  • Some countries are truly blessed with good looking people *seriously some athletes are very CUTE!*
  • I love the diversity of national costumes that some of them wore during the parade

Oh..and did you notice the gigantic art work that is produced from the footsteps of athlete marching into the centre of the field

That is one very UNIQUE idea

The performance earlier *the acrobats, beautiful lights and cultural touch + FIREWORKS*

Absolutely beautiful! So beautiful that it almost moved me to tears...*but gotta tahan cos malu to cry...huhu*

Now, I am totally anticipating for the lighting of the Olympic Flame.

Ooh...and I was really surprised to learn that China has over 58 different ethnics all over the country. I am so loving their traditional costumes
