Yes..betul punya bah tu. Bukan main-main.

It has been in my plan, I once said to myself I am gonna wait till I am 26 before I got inked, just maybe I will change my mind

I didn't change my mind, just that the design changed. I got this tattooed on my wrist. As expected, mom didn't take it well. Kena marah la in a way. But its already done. Apa boleh buat kan, its not like I am 16.

Sakit kah?

Oh well, I personally can say that I am afraid of needles and my tolerance of pain is very low. But, I survived! Hehe.

The whole experience for me was therapeutic. I have my own personal reasons why I really do want to have JADE tattooed on me.

For all the rejections, failures, hardship and skepticism that I had and gonna have for my journey with JADE, the pain for the tattoo is nothing.

And this is a constant reminder for me to persevere and stay focused throughout the journey.

The only problem now is how to make it un-noticeable due to the nature of my job, the watch can't really hide it.

Joan says: I'm officially inked!

Joan's food trail

I went to Penang recently. Hehe. Nothing special about the trip. Jadi tour guide for my sister and my cousin actually. Anyway, the whole trip was more like to find all the food that I miss very much.

Should be blogging this at my travel blog but hmmmm.. Prefer wanna do it here ( too many blogs confuses me at times ). So, this post might be a guide to you who wants to visit Penang on a tight budget ( like we did.. hehe )

140711 - 170711
Bought our tics to Penang during the Airasia RM0 fare promotion, so taxes and what not , the ticket is Rm115 ( return ). Worth it kan? But CRK terkorban la of course because it wasn't a school holiday.

Accomodation was basically free, courtesy of my friend who have a whole apartment to herself and the location is superb because it was accessible to public transport. Bukit Jambul area.

We even took the Rapid Penang from the airport, screw the expensive taxis! Hidup Rapid Penang! It only cost us RM2 from the airport to Bukit Jambul ( Bus no 304 ). There's even a Rapid Penang kiosk where you can inquire about maps and other nonsense you might have, just bombard them with questions. The lady with too much make up at the counter will be happy to help.

Check out this signage inside the bus. The last one bah funny! And they even provide free wi-fi on the bus.
IPriority !!
So, my food trail all started when I went back to my former campus area ( Sungai Dua ), there's this food court called Bali-Bali cafe where they have food-food-food-food!

The dimsums there is QUITE nice, not superbly nice but still its better than I have here in Sabah.

The assam laksa is the BOMB! Costing only at RM3.00 per bowl. Kuah paling pekat saya pernah rasa and I always come back for more.

The Nasi Kerabu is the LEGEND. The aunty from Thailand is still selling it there. Thank God for that. RM3.50 per plate. Kalau boleh saya mo tapau jak tu aunty balik Sabah suruh dia buka kadai sini oh.

Food! Glorious food

And of course if I am around the campus area, a visit is a must. I wanted to try the Nasi Lemak inside the campus which had been my favourite for the years I was in USM but perut terlampau penuh sudah, so we jalan2 only lah.

For any ex-USM, the DTSP where we all terima scroll for convo, now has been given MAJOR facelift. Inside and outside. Futuristic sudah rupa dia. Ngam la with the apex status it was given, match up sudah ni the name and the infrastructure.

Hmmmm, I really do wish I could continue my masters in USM but sigh...the stars are not aligned to my destiny.

Talking about facelift, KOMTAR too had a facelift. It looked better now, not some drug addict and hobo place anymore. Brighter and cleaner. I guess when the government of Penang changed the other day, this Penang icon is coming back to its heyday era. ( well at least ada sikit itu glory lah )

And there's a coffee shop that I always frequented after church every Sunday morning. And my favourite food there is the FRIED RICE. Yummeh!!!! The price is still the same and the uncle who owns the stall there still remember me. Haha.

The nasi goreng is best to go with the Teh Ping there. Just be ready to have shouts next to your ear. The waiter and waitress for the drinks have very strong lungs to convey the orders to the tukang buat minuman.

Not too forget the Chendol at Penang Road, yang tempat makan dia mo berdiri to complete the whole experience while dodging passing by cars. My cousin said "mo makan pun mo bertarung nyawa lagi" - haha!

All hail Rapid Penang!
There are two places where I thought it was impossible to reach by public transport. Its because during my college years in Penang, I never been to these places via bus.

One is Kek Lok Si, armed with the pocket map and the guide at the bus station, we took the bus no. 201 to Ayer Itam.

I have vague memories where the Kek Lok Si is located and the nearest place to stop is the Ayer Itam town. And I can't really remember where and how this town looked like. So, hoping that we won't get lost, we just hop on the bus and enjoy the ride. Haha.

Thank God, sampai juga bah, even though we were like so blur when to tell the bus driver to stop. Maybe we really dressed up like tourist bah then dia tau la mo kasi stop di Kek Lok Si. Whatever it is, we made it!!!

The other place, that I thought impossible was the Toy Museum and Tanjung Bungah hotel as it is located at Tanjung Bungah area, before Batu Feringghi.

The Toy Museum was also the same case like Kek Lok Si, I don't know where it is exactly and how does it look like, or what area it is. The bus driver also won't be helping us so much because once you board the bus, he only care about how much fare you will pay. Komtar to Tanjung Bungah area is RM2 using bus no.102.

Again, we tried our luck, constantly looking at the window for the sign of a Toy Museum. I remember, we saw a big Ultraman statue in front of a building and almost instantly wanna ring the bell for the bus to stop - manatau its a kindergarten pula. Cis!! Nasib belum tekan bell.

Tapi sampai juga bah kami! Hehehe. Even though we rang the bell to stop lambat and we have to walk around 1.5km from our stop to the Toy Museum.

Travelling by bus is indeed cheap but you have to prepared to squeeze and be smart in moving inside the bus itself. Definitely a survival skill. There's location to stand so as not to be sexually harrassed by some perverts or ways to avoid from smelling stinky armpits and what not.

Plus a good walking sandal is a must. And please take not when is the last bus taking off, you don't wanna end up like a homeless person sleeping at the bus station if you don't have money to hire a cab.

With the 4 days and 3 nights trip to Penang, I still couldn't manage to taste all the food that was on my list. Nasi Kandar, Roti Naan, Ayam Tandoori....Ah, next time lagi lah.

Who wanna join me for the next trip? Pigi adventure lagi naik bas. Hehe

p.s: Now, I felt like going backpacking somewhere pula...

Anyone who is following my twitter, must be wondering. "Why in the world that this girl is so full of negative energy"

Yeah, I don't rant that much via Facebook status these days, most of them are in my twitter. So, my dear twitter followers; you really get all the shit err, I mean crap. Oh, what the hell, it's all pessimism that you are getting.
Anyway, do follow me on twitter if you like to have negativity rubbed in your face. Haha. @joanmoo

I love Wednesdays. Why? Because my timetable for today is quite free and I don't have to teach for the final period. But today, I am hating Wednesday.

The main reason is because when I put on my blouse and skirt which I haven't wear since April this year, I hardly can squeeze into the skirt. And the corset that I am wearing inside the blouse to tuck my stomach inside also squeezing my fat sampai sakit my kulit. I have to keep adjusting it while teaching and its damn irritating!

Ah, I am facing the cold hard fact that I am actually overweight already. The weight is not my main concern, its about getting all flabby and chunky at the wrong places. And to top all this, my appetite is something that requires much willpower to control it.

I am an impulsive eater. I eat to suit my mood. So since I am always Ms. Pessimistic on Twitter you know how I eat as well.

Maybe, I should try this.. See what the ad offers ( hehehe )
Itu bahagian -> Menyingkirkan daging di pinggang dan perut yang paling manang!

Fan swirling over my head

The fan circling round and round, and me sitting with a glass of cold ice tea and an empty plate. Ate one donut. Oh the sugar and calories. Let it be. Curvy girls are here to rule the world. *self consolation konon the last sentence tu*

Funny how I can spend a solitary tea time at this school canteen allowing me to blog with ease. Some teachers with their normal cliques. Me? I don't feel like socializing today. Time and time again the question of "bila mau kawin?" may become a bit of annoyance. Tapi lama2 macam lali sudah la. I just don't care, just have to bear in mind not to take things too personal.

I am quite happy today given the fact it's a rainy day and I do love rainy days. It makes me more attentive to my monologues in my head which is good for inspiration in writing poems or songs. And if you must ask how I can get inspired to start writing? Rainy days is the answer.

Ten minutes to my next class and I am struggling to finish the cold tea and both hands are still typing words to my phone. The other colleague who had joined me briefly at this canteen table is nowhere to be seen. Thank god for that at least there'll be no more questions about my life plans.

Anyway, just to let everyone know. My weekends starts this evening. Hehe. Long weekend am gonna have. I love CRKs. Now, who said July has the least public holidays. Hehehe.

Harry Potter

The latest and final edition of the whole book now is complete on the silver screen. And boy, these kids really grew up to live their character in the movie.

Its gonna be funny when Daniel Radcliffe will always be known as Harry Potter instead of his real name. Btw, I seriously doesn't know what's Ron Weasley's real name.

Be wise.

Be wise. BERSIH or KOTOR. Let everyone speak their mind freely. Just don't start condemning others even before there's anything to condemn about.

And here's a good read too. -> FEISTGEIST

Welcoming Hari Lima with open arms

Technically, it's Friday. The clock had past midnight sudah kan. (Well, some people don't really feel its already a new day if they havent get their night sleep and woke up literally for a new day kan. It happens to me as well)

So, what's new?

My weekends starts today. Yeay. Thanks for the Larian 1M1S last Saturday! Other schools seems to have their cuti ganti on last Monday but our school postponed ours to Friday due to the visit from Nazir that day. Oh, well; nonetheless its a good news. Long weekend is here baby!

Talking about the weekend. The much hyped up issue now is the 9th July rally. So, what's your take on that? I guess there's no right or wrong about it after all the objective of the rally is quite a neutral issue. Not taking sides of the pro-gov or anti-gov.

Anyway, it's a sad thing that many people turn this neutral issue to be something else. I don't wanna comment on that. I am not very well informed of all the other angles and aspects that arises from this matter. Just that what irks me a lot, about some people who condemn those who are in support of the rally for being un-educated, stupid, blinded and what other nonsense. And the same thing vice versa. It's a free country. Oh wait, I need to have a rain check on that. Haha.

I guess before you comment or make any remarks on something that needs deeper level of understanding, keep yourself informed. Informed well, I mean by having mainstream and alternative sources at hand. Read both sides of the stories.

Sometimes people's comments are as shallows as their thoughts anyway. What the heck? Why do I even bother about them. Haha.

So...what colour of baju I want to wear when go out this Saturday? Hmmmmm...

Malas. Panas. Bikin panas.

At the moment I am typing this post, I am at the staff room. Well, mine is separated from the main one. Because I'm the kuli kuli saja. Hehe. Setiausaha peperiksaan dalaman konon. Hence the isolation. And in the afternoon, I am practically alone here. So, I am very sleepy now.

Been staring at my exam paper for too long that I can sleep with my eyes open.

I just don't know what's wrong with me lately. I am just totally UNMOTIVATED for work these days. I came to work late almost everyday. I basically don't care how do I look coming to school.

And to make things worse, yesterday and today, I gave in to my laziness that I just don't bother to do anything with my students. All I say "do your revisions" and I started reading my Readers Digest. The only period that I am excited for is teaching PE. My oh my, what's wrong with me.

Bottom line is the teaching environment here is not fun anymore given that my surroundings is not fun. The work ethics here is more like "I do my work and that's it". The camaraderie is out of question.

And that fact slap hard on my face making me realize that I don't really have friends at work.

Gosh, I am still sleepy!!!

Everything starts with number 1

Don't you think so? It's like too much! 1Malaysia. 1Borneo. 1Sabah. 1Murid 1Sukan. Satu everything. But never bersatu juga. Haha. ( Btw, next week. Don't simply wear yellow. Nanti kena tangkap sebab baju 'bersih' kan - pakai baju kotor better )

Anyway, all the educator community had an overtime weekend I suppose. Yeah. that SATU thingy again. Berlari lah kita satu negara. Kunun. Pui!

And as usual, I was in charge of the warm-up and stretching session. Yawn! Sangat la nda siok sebab sound system set up lambat and the PK Kokum told me "Buat lah apa yang patut sebab kita tidak cukup masa sudah ni". So, improvise is the answer. Improvise to me is hentam buat saja lah apa yang terlintas di fikiran. Peduli.. Hehe.

As for today, I had to visit the studio again. Ada project sikit, yeah tiring! But it seems this is the thing that I am enjoying the most now. Studio means its a time capsule when things will be very time consuming and creativity just flow and I feel so liberated doing it. And so for the project, plus with collaborations with some local acts, kami dapat sponsor topi. Hehe.

Smart ka? LANSI Caps. I think LANSI - means arrogant ( not sure its Hokkien or Cantonese ) . But here, many people thought itu Lansi yang Langsi. Langsi ikan. Haha.

But still it's cool! Lovin' the inside the cap writing. -> 100% awesome

RSVP please!!

Am getting married! For real

Yeah, you must be like WTH right?!

Ni la ni. Bila umur sudah meningkat sana la juga banyak mulut2 urang sibuk mo bercakap.

Awwww, c'mon.

The question usually will be "bah bilalah?" I am not offended nor angry when being asked like that. I will always answer " if the time comes I will let you know juga"

Tapi yang bikin panas ada lagi yang berusaha mau menyakinkan yang saya memang PATUT kahwin sudah by sibuk cakap pasal umur and even better by saying "jangan tunggu lama nanti jadi *ehem"

Bah..what's that word? Andartu? Cakap saja la bah. Mo jaga hati kunun. I am already offended enough by telling me about my ticking biological clock, fading youth and what not. For goodness sake I studied biology in college. Sana lagi mau bagi BIO 101.

Sometimes I am not sure whether this kind of people are really concerned about me or they just have that I-don't-know-what-to-talk-about moments. Nothing to say shut up lah. Tanya satu cukup, ni mau lagi berceramah.

All I know, my life is not "your" life or "their" life. Everyone has a different life story. It's all up to them how they wanna live it. Besides a wedding isn't another birthday party to organize. A marriage is a lifelong commitment.

Somehow, this "insulting" people with annoying conversations always will end the conversation with no further arguments when I say " kalau saya kahwin nanti saya jemput juga ko bah "

Hmmm. Takkan takut nda kana jemput..
