W - W is for Wednesdays (ROM)

Registration of marriage. Legal stuff and for me it is just a formality. Although technically am actually married now but I just don't feel that it is "official" until everything is solemnized at church.

And the experience prior to the registration... Ok. Let me sum this up.

I arrived in Penang yesterday and as a preparation to the event today, I slept early. But around 1.30am, my dad woke me and my mom because he has discomfort and numbness over his right side of body especially the arm and the pain at the back of his neck. We were worried sick.

Thinking of the place to seek help at that odd hours I called the hotel reception for help but all I got from them is "Pegi Klinik Tajudin, just go straight straight only" - punya la tu jawapan minta ampas! Sial butul. Lucky the mister ada kasi pinjam kereta to us. So I drove to the hospital (just relying on my memory of the roads a couple of years ago)

And you know the drill with government hospital. Queuing and what nots.

Basically, my dad had ECG, CT scan and blood test done on him and all this in one night. It is kinda certain that my parents can't make it to my ROM because he has to be warded for the night and need to be diagnosed by the specialist early in the morning. Sleepless night. I left my parents at the hospital and got back to the hotel to catch an hour sleep then get ready.

So it was a lonely feat to be at the ROM. I just have to smile through the storm.

The mister and his parents and his aunty. That's all. I went through the whole thing like a dream. Still pretty much dazed and lack of sleep.

Just looking forward for 14th of Sept now

Meteor Rain

Nah. I didn't even waste my time to look up the night sky last night. Sleep is more precious. Haha.

Bagus lagi buat light painting photography begini. Ada hasil lagi. Still it's pretty lights.

W - is for Wednesdays ( First Dance )

Some couple take dance classes for their first dance. Some just "goyang-goyang" saja.

Some love to have it more fun and lively like Cha-Cha or Jive

Some love to have it more romantic like Waltz or Rhumba

But I guess whether it is impromptu or not, it is supposed to be shared as a memorable and fun moment for the couple.

As for my first dance, me and the mister gotta practice. Hahaha. Ada la tu urang sort of having two left feet sometimes but I love him for that. Haha. Never fail to make me smile.

PMS Alert

It's the shit you say to people when you get crossed over petty things

Things you might break when it doesn't work the things it normally does

The view that can be suffocating even when it's a normal sight when the hormones don't push you to the edge

I have PMS ! So, me and everyone around me have to deal with it. Or rather I will have to stay away from everyone for this couple of days. The mood is so volatile. I can be very hostile

Holidays are back

Okay time to switch to holiday mode and perhaps focus more on wedding stuff. I had headache yesterday due to a few stuff concerning work and also the news reading practice.

This Saturday and Sunday am actually refraining from the Big Three of my social media distraction. Facebook + Twitter + Instagram. Puasa dulu la this weekend. Let's see how productive I can be if I am not that distracted.

In the meantime, enjoy your weekend peeps!

W - is for Wednesdays ( Bridezilla )

What are the symptoms of Bridezilla? When I read articles about Bridezilla(s) am almost or partly it and half of me is the anti-bride.

Anti-bride is defined to be those who don't fancy the big.white.wedding. So I guess am a crossover of this two persona.

My wedding is pretty much scattered with a lot of DIY things in which things that I did the research and execute it myself. Right from the designing, the folding, the crafting. Am thanking God for my wonderful family for lending a hand on this tedious (crazy) task. I can't do those things alone. Although they might not understand why I wanted to do everything on my own, but they still help. I hate those people who are all talk but no help punya type.

I understand people won't get it why I wanted to do things my way. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. So do I. Besides its me and the mister's wedding, not theirs. Hmpph! Some even question why I choose to do the tedious details for the wedding invitation (yes, folding the doilies and crafting it). I always have the option to choose the easy way (get a vendor and let them do it for you). But I choose the road less taken. The design of the card, the color, the envelopes, the font are all the things that I like. Being creative is the satisfaction although its painful. I don't live for the compliment of others.

I guess there's a lot of hearts are meant to be broken along the way. But I still need to take care of my own (even the mister is giving green light for most of the things, so why bother). As for now, I just can't accept it when the talking become more rampant rather than a helping hand. Kana tulung juga tapi tulung tinguk sama cakap saja. Bikin panas.

So yeah, am the anti-bride and almost a Bridezilla bride to be. Say hello to August and let me panic now. (albeit the existence of checklists. Hahaha. Panic mode on)

Wedding Nightmares

This might sound a bit odd. Usually people will have nightmares about ghosts and scary things around but not me as of late. I have been having dreams about my wedding day in which it turn out to be chaotic and so many things not done and such. Last night I dreamed that the wedding choir were doing some Glee-like repertoire during the mass and I forgot my veil and there's no photographer. Sleepless nights, really.

Yes, I am really in a mode where I am actually having anxiety attack from within. Knowing the fact that next week is gonna be August already, I am getting nervous! It's gonna be the 30 days countdown soon and I AM NERVOUS. See how many times am gonna repeat that.

I am scared to fall asleep these days because I don't want to have those bad dreams. Plus, I am missing the mister for almost a month and a half now and it's just my family to fall back to.

At times I feel all I can do to make my mind at peace is pray.

I am really freaking out right now.

Thursday - Things I like #4

Once you started working and life changes from being so care free to be a rat race, things are different. Yes, different in a sense that your goals changed.

From the life of a student to a working adult life. Then; no money but still can have a good time and no worries because there wasn't mortgage and bills to pay. Now; ____ (you fill in the blanks)

So, let us take a step back and reminisce about the good old days.

1) non stop shopping
Be it window shopping or real shopping. This was something that I should remember and would really like to do it again. There was one time, that me and my bestie Sheila spent like more than 5 hours touring Prangin Mall in Penang, going in and out of shops, trying on clothes and just don't feel tired at all. Punya rajin. I guess nowadays 3 hours non stop shopping is already torturing much. Sakit pinggang, sakit kaki ( maklum la berat badan sudah )

2) party on a weekday
Carpool into one miserable Kancil and party the night away in a club. Go out at least two to three times a week and go swamp the clubs on Ladies Night. Haha. Too broke to buy our own drinks but nonetheless we had fun. And some of my friends lose weight by dancing all through the night.

3) adrenaline escape
Remember Akademi Fantasia? Well, I was an avid fan back then. So, we watched the show finale at a gerai outside campus and totally forgot about the curfew ( the main gate close at midnight ) - climbing the gate to go back is the way to go in. Hey, who got caught by the security guard while running in the dark trying to dodge the beam of the torchlight from the sewel security guards? It was yours truly (plus a few other friends). Fun times!

4) camps
Good time to escape from the monotony of campus life and also meet new people also go to new places. The cheapest way to travel and socialize. Yea, I met my other half from camps as well. Ahahaha.

5) slumber parties
Crashing in at a friend's house or room and just chat and chat and chat and chat . We talk about anything and everything ( and also read tarot cards to tell about the future. Hahahahaha ) I remember having an extra key for my bestie's hostel room. I was like the other extra room mate who is forever there.

Things were much simpler then huh? Ah, the elixir of youth.

The list goes on. I guess everyone have the memory of youth that you wish you still can do it now.

Doily Frenzy

Painstakingly folded with love for all the invites. Yeah, I am beat. Gotta sleep now. Sambung again tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow. Haha.

Afternoon naps are luxury items

I am so happy this weekend because I get to do afternoon naps. Man, it is indeed a luxury these days to have those. My weekend is a full on "dunno dun care weekend". I just do the things that I want to do and not the ones that I have to do.

Talking about the things that I want to do; I remember when I was growing up I always pretend that I am reading news. I will just grab the magazine, newspaper or the bible and read it out loud ala news reader style.

I have tried out two news casting auditions in the past and the third one was last week and I got the call backs. Yeay! starting Monday, am gonna be having intensive daily training to read news on the set. Hopefully if it is my luck, I will have the chance to read the Berita Wilayah on TV1 soon.

Am one of the 3 who got the call backs, my bestie, Clarvie is also one of the 3. So, it is fun to have kawan - It isn't that intimidating.

And the fact about being on camera made you put as if you have gained a few pounds. I guess it is true. Extra gemuk la saya on screen. Perlu kurus lagi.

W - is for Wednesdays ( Wedding Shoes )

Hey, I am back blogging about weddings. The hectic schedule finally subsided and I can finally breathe again. But nonetheless still busy about the wedding stuff.

So, today's topic is about wedding/bridal shoes. The traditional color choice will always be white or ivory to be worn with the wedding gown. I am still searching for mine. I have 3 choice of colors in my head now ( gold, ivory or blush ) - but I am also considering bold colors like red or yellow.

I am eyeing also a few shoes online apart from browsing the racks at shopping malls. My only problem is usually the heels' height. It is not that I dislike high heels ( I love them! ) but I don't think it's practical ( and comfortable ) to be wearing it on the big day itself ( in which there are SO many other things that I should do and I should be able to "prance" around in my shoes )

Bent but not broken

Monday blues like totally and thanks to the rain, I am tucked in my bed at this hour. Usually I won't be on my bed until its like 1am.

The experience of a day trip shopping to KL was like uhm... I don't think I wanna do it again. Totally an amazing race kinda shopping spree. Sakit badan woi! Testing our stamina and endurance definitely. It was on Sunday so Monday is "lemah longlai" punya hari.

Monday runs like a reel film going fast and kinda lifeless. Went working out but still it's the same. I guess the solemn mood still hovers around since the news of one of my fave Glee star found dead in a hotel in Canada is trending all over social media. Life is definitely short.

There's a demon lurking in
Creeping and stealing what's within
Sometimes things ends without a beginning
What's left a legacy to keep inspiring

Just keep believing

RIP Cory Monteith.

Hoping for a good night sleep

Am actually finally get to sleep properly tonight. Was hoping to sleep early but the Korean Drama(s) need some catching up. Haha. So while am trying to key in the grades for the "smart" online system; better known as PBS among teachers, the lag in between could actually allow me to watch and "try" to key in. Haha. It is actually very "productive".

I have been sleeping 2 to 3 hours only these few days because of the PBS. I have painstakingly go thru the items and marked it accordingly. In which this agony is because of my own fault for delaying the process which should be done much earlier. ( Hey, can't blame me right, I have a wedding to plan ). Anyway, as the my colleague said "kerja tetap kerja". So a teacher gotta do what a teacher should do.

And I gave up on keying it in a hurry because I don't see it can be done in like one night. A delayed 7 months work can be done in 24 hours right? So it was definitely a very agonizing week.

Now that the PBS slip was given to parents today, I am hoping to get a good night sleep. ( yeah, to all teachers who are reading this, I know, explaining the system to the parents is also another thing ). Some of the parents I met was saying " Om nokuro toi ti E nopo ngawi, aiso tanak ku nakaanu A ti? " ( translation: why is there all E here? My kid doesn't get any A? ) Hmmm parents confusion, can't blame them. Kesian the parents.

And another issue, one student came up to me and pointed out why her classmate who had been absent for a couple of months could get the same grade as her in certain subjects. Well, apparently some teachers don't want to agonize over the test items (questions) and grade the students accordingly.

I agonize over the whole thing, sleepless nights and bad time management but at least I did justice to the students. Stupid system so be it! At least I did my part properly.

Bah, I am trying to sleep this. My biological clock is kinda screwed up because of PBS.

Good night !

Eventful July

Hello July!

I just came back from Kudat for the Sunset music fest. I hope I can blog about that soon. Man! The final week of June was so hectic with school sports day, kursus 1m1s, and the kudat trip. I survived everything juga la. Phew! Right after coming back from Kudat yesterday there was a gig as well for a dinner. Everything back to back.

So, waking up this morning to face Monday is certainly something very hard to do. My room is still in a mess. Laundry to be done. And I am still tired. But I have to work as well right ? So off to school I go even though I am late as usual. Haha

Upon reaching school the next thing I know there was a massive hysteria attack in which more than 10 students are all shouting at different places. Adoi. Sudah la that time is the transition time ( the morning session is going home and the afternoon session is going into classes) - ramai la budak jadi spectator as well as jadi ghostbusters.

Ada yang lari lari bawa rosary and crucifix. Ada yang sibuk siram siram holy water. Ada lagi yang reciting prayers out loud and of course in between are all the hysteric shouts. Pening-pening. Apparently this is actually the aftermath of the scouts camping yang dorang ada kena kacau "spirits" and now when Monday comes, belum lagi habis the incident. So a hysteria attack marathon it was.

Aaaaaandddd the best thing is I found out I am actually the teacher on duty ( guru bertugas ) this week. Hmppph!! Such an "honor" to attend to an eventful day. So my job today was mostly attending to these cases and ferrying students back to their home.

Totally a manic Monday!

Busy hazy week

This is my daily view these days. I am almost numb to the haze but today, I decided to stay indoors today and hide in the staff room this afternoon. I really don't feel like getting my nose sniffing directly the hazy air outside.

And the school sports day starts tomorrow. Yeay! 25-27th it is.

27-28th I will have to give some talk on sessions during the 1M1S course for my district, specifically trying to train other teachers to be "amateur" aerobic instructors at their respective school.

Also coinciding with those dates is the Sunset Music Fest happening at the tip of Borneo. I will be performing with my sisters. This weekend also there's another show at one of the hotel.

So, its more like an ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! moment now. Hence the MIA for quiet some time. I am busy. Wedding stuff + all those above = insanity!

Have a hazy week you all!

W - is for Wednesdays ( Engagement Shoots )

Hey hey I am back! I am missing a lot of posts here on my blog. The last school holiday was fully utilized to not handling stuff related to work. Cuti habis!

And also I did my Pre-Wedding shoot ( in which I rather call it Engagement shoot ). So, where's the behind the scene shoot. Gosh! I don't have any except for this photo which I also posted on my instagram ( I am @joan_jade on instagram, do follow me! )

I did my engagement shoot with Jofanna Bridal. Highly recommended for the couple who loves flexibility and who wants to be fully engaged in having their own ideas to be dumped in the whole concept. Just like what we did. I can't do any comparison with other bridal though but all I can say if you want flexibility and quirkyness, Jofanna Bridal is the place to go.

Will blog more about it once the photos are ready.

p.s: Ah, can't wait for the photos. I am so anxious and excited to see the outcome.

Hot Tuesday

My room seriously need air-conditioning! It's so panas! But, am feeling good nonetheless. It's all because I don't have to teach for today and tomorrow. I am invigilating for the SPM Ulangan. So, it's a YEAY because my mind is totally not ready to be teaching.

I survived Monday with ease but it feels weird not to get angry with the students. Hahaha. I am one crazy teacher. It's a must to scold them like at least once a day. Biarlah.

On another note, my mind is like so worried about my band's upcoming gig for the Sunset Music Fest in Kudat. We really have to put our mind and soul to the practice. There's so many distractions now. Life!

Million Dollar Question

For those who have been verbally asking me ( or some just mentally asking  ), I guess this video will answer the question

Ok that's all. Bye!

Halfway milestone is here

Been MIA. Hectic is usually the word to describe May but now hey it's the new month. Should we celebrate? I celebrated it with some flower crown DIY project.

W - is for Wednesdays ( Handling Emotions )

Usually on Wednesday, I will be talking about wedding details but this time it's a little different. Handling emotions as a bride or bride-to-be.

For me, the thought of having my dad to walk me down the aisle and hand me to the next man who is going to take care of me for the rest of my life is already overwhelming. Yes, I cry easily.

I sing for wedding choirs most of the time and the most touching part for me for any wedding ceremony is always the part where the father of the bride give away her princess to the future husband of her daughter. The feeling of having a lump in my throat while singing is inevitable. Most of the time, I will try not to look at the whole process and just sing.

I guess it is the biggest change for any bride and the fact that the act of "handing over" is such a big transition, it will definitely made a big impact on anyone. Ok maybe, not every bride will cry. For me I guess I will.

I remember having a video done by Pastels & Cream prior to my engagement party. The question about the things I wanted to say to my parents because I am about to get married really really is overwhelming. I was running through the questions while I was sitting in class and hey waterworks started and I just have to pura-pura gosok mata kunun masuk habuk scared my students perasan saya nangis. Odoi.

For some brides, their life won't change so much because they marry someone from their neighbourhood or let alone their highschool sweetheart. I have a long distance relationship and I guess once I get married, not only that I am "detaching" myself from my family, I also have to embrace another new environment in a different place.

Preparing for this wedding isn't so bad. But preparing myself for a marriage is the real test actually.

What say you? Any advice from past-brides that have gone through all this?

Thursday Things I like (cancelled)

For this week. Because it is stress week. Ok bye!

Hate it when you don't really have people to talk to and sort things out with.

W - is for Wednesday ( Bridal Hair Accesories )

Tiaras

This is the like the most common accessory I can see on most brides. It's very regal and princess like. And the size of tiaras ranges from small to HUGE. I guess the most suitable ones would be the one that's subtle and appropriate for your face shape and size

I think it is a big NO NO to have a huge tiara like a beauty queen but sadly there are brides who walked down the aisle/sanding with this huge tiara. Tsk tsk tsk

I am totally loving this halo tiara. Very dreamy!

Flowers

So feminine. Whether it's fresh flowers or not, it totally add an extra touch of softness to the whole look

Looking for a more bohemian look. Try flower crowns.

Headbands

This simple understated piece is always a favourite too. You can dress up and dress it down with the amount of bling on the headband. Wear it from the day to the night.

Jewel Clips

Very flexible since you can just place it anywhere on your hair and you can skip the huge and chunky earrings or necklace and just adorn your hair with this jewels

Frontlets

Frankly, my least favourite. It is just like putting a necklace on your head and voila ~ not pretty. Huhu

I think only Indian brides can really pull this look off without having something like a necklace or other kind jewelleries being "scattered" on the head

These are my thoughts on this. Other brides and bride-to-be might have different views about it. Selamat hari tiga!!!

Generalization, why it is bad?

6th of May and suddenly everyone is an advocate for something all over the social media. Yes, people are entitled to their opinion. It's your right anyway. And it is a good thing that people DO care about Malaysia. It's a good start!

As you can see, everywhere is spewed with hatred (mostly) towards the death of democracy. I found a good read here. In which in turn moved me to write about my experience being one of the Polling Clerk for the GE13.

I am polling clerk no. 1. My task is to read aloud the serial number, ic number and full name of the voter
My day started early on 5th of May. We all have to be at the polling centre by 6am. As for our Ketua Tempat Mengundi for our saluran. He has to be at the police station the latest by 5am to take the ballot papers and ballot boxes. Our day started very early indeed.

We have prepared some of the things needed a day before but the rest of the things are being set up before 7am (at least)

And this is my view by 7am
So the people started coming in to line up outside by 10-15 mins before 8am.

FYI: the people who are inside the room are
1) Ketua Tempat Mengundi
2) Kerani No.1 ( that's me )
3) Kerani No.2 ( the one who is in charge of painting the indelible ink )
4) Kerani No.3 ( the one in charge giving out the ballot paper to voters )
5) Kerani No.4 ( tukang kasi tunjuk mana mau pigi and kasi cucuk itu karatas undi kalau susah mau masuk kutak )
6) Representatives of each candidate for observation ( they are the polling agent - in which they will take turns with their team every 2 hours )
7) one police officer assigned at the door to control the crowd

another FYI (s) :
The polling agents is responsible for being the "eye" on the whole process
They can actually query at anytime if there's hanky panky
They monitor the numbers of voters coming in ( hence the need for kerani no.1 to read out everything is for them to dengar and cross out the list )

The existence of polling agents are not known by many. Most of the time they thought everyone in the room is SPR people.

People came in like non-stop from 8am till 12noon. With macam-macam gaya. ( Ada yang mabuk lagi pigi mengundi juga. Miring2 lagi jalan. Odoi! )

This was my lunch in which was actually tea break food in the morning. Lunch ada tapi nda sempat makan cos people keep coming in

I need to vote too. Since my voting centre is the same just different saluran only. So need to curi masa by asking my other kerani to cover for me. Yes, it's our responsibility. We must vote!
The story of the indelible ink is another one. Aiya, malas la mau elaborate. Sakit jiwa. And of course KAMI yang bertugas la yang kana marah-marah for nothing. Bukan salah kami pun.

This is my view around a few minutes before the polling time is over.

Bangas dan kepanasan dan mengantuk. Sakit belakang la duduk for almost 10 hours.
By 5.00 pm, the police officer tutup the door and just left us the petugas and the polling agents. The Ketua Tempat Mengundi then seal the ballot boxes and allow 30 mins for tempoh bertenang. ( Yeah, all was done by the book )

We then set up the trays for counting of the votes. Actually the tedious part comes here.

Counting of votes

The Ketua then will open the seal in front all the polling agents and we will transfer the ballot papers to the tray of UNDI BELUM DIKIRA. Stack the ballot papers in 10s and 100s and count the numbers. It must tally with the numbers recorded earlier ( the number of ballot papers issued out )

It was such a relief that it tally. So now kira!

We then unfold every single ballot paper and show it to the polling agents and say out the vote.( Satu hari bah go announcing things right from reading out names now reading out votes ) Any arguable votes will be placed as UNDI RAGU. Habis sorting out ikut votes to which party we head on to decide the UNDI RAGU.

Another crucial part, this is where the polling agents and the Ketua Tempat Mengundi will go over the ballot papers ONE by ONE. The guideline is based by the book as well. Some are accepted and some are rejected.

After that, the counting of votes in each tray of the contesting candidates. Stack in 10s then 100s ( if ada yang sampai begitu banyak vote dia la ). Then everything is recorded in one form. The Borang 14 I think. The Ketua Tempat Mengundi then will ask the polling agents to sign the form to confirm the result.

Pack the results in an envelope and the ballot papers also in envelope. Macam itu exam paper bah. Lebih kurang la tu.

Phew! We started the process of counting around 5.30pm and ended around 8.30pm. Mo patah pinggang oh. Well. That's only for the NEGERI punya ballot box with 602 ballot papers in our saluran. Gotta repeat the SAME thing ALL OVER again for the PARLIMEN punya ballot box. Huhu.

So, fikirlah camana penat dia. Our day started around 6am at it was already 8.30pm. (Lapar lagi, penat lagi). The whole thing ended like almost 10pm. Then packing lagi. Our Ketua then have to hantar the result + ballot papers + ballot box accompanied by policeman to the Pusat Penjumlahan Undi in Tuaran. Nasib baik tiada recount ( I can't imagine places yang ada recount votes, sabar saja lah )

I choose to be one of the polling clerk this time around because I am curious of the whole process. I guess if I am not exposed to the other side of the story, I will definitely be another "lecturer" on the social medias. Some complain kenapa lambat, all I can say for my saluran there were 602 ballot papers and there are two ballot boxes to be counted. Some say dulu 2008 kenapa result cepat, all I can say for my saluran there were an increase for voters who turned up to vote. 2008 was only 70 something % and this 2003 is 80 something % ( Note, I am only giving the example of my saluran because that is what I know, other place might not be the same )

And if I were to do that like saying " Petugas SPR buduh " , "kera-BN" , "SPR Penipu", I will be very selfish I guess. My parents have bertugas as Petugas SPR as well for many years. This GE, my dad is the Penyelia for my polling centre and my mom is the assistant of the chief SPR for Tuaran.

You see, what generalization can do. It will only hurt people. Those unkind words hurled at SPR to generalize everything. You don't know what they have to endure in order to get the voting process done. My friend in Sarawak have to travel by boat 2 hours to reach the rumah panjang that she bertugas. Getting there alone is very susah let alone to bringing another "extra" box. Siapa yang mau menyusahkan diri. But, other place yang ada kejadian, saya nda tau.

I understand that things happen. The magic trick. The blackout. The "extra" boxes. It happen in other places. People say. But do they really know what happen? I do not know. Maybe some polling centres don't follow the SOP. We do not know. As much as we can digest the information you don't have to spread it if it maybe rumors  Try to do at least some research on the process first  (at least). And most of all, be kind with your words. Cakap la apa ko mau, itu masing-masing punya hak tapi cakap bagus-bagus la.

Just be kind! No matter in what situation. Don't generalize. If you are saying SPR kapsit, it's generalizing the whole SPR. It's like saying all men are useless; but your dad is a man also kan. Or saying all women are evil; but your mom is also a woman. Be specific la kalau mau accuse pun.

I had a long day on Sunday and I practically waited for the result in front of the tv ( and also my mom, who was at the pusat penjumlahan undi ). I think I only went to sleep at 2am and my mom only came back home at 3am. We all definitely had a LONG day.

Monday ( today ) is a working day. Check out how many students turned up in my class. At least, this is the good class and the number who turned up to school is around half the total. But, where are the rest of the kids, penat jadi SPR juga ka?

Odoi. Sekolah berhantu today. Sangat sunyi ok.

Thursday - Things I like #3

Second day of May. So, here's another edition things I like. Yeah, I just like to ramble.

My favourite Youtube Artists

Kina Grannis
Such sweet voice. I was so excited to find her album selling at Rock Corner store last year. You know it's hard to get the physical CD of this Youtube artist because they don't really got promoted as much as the mainstream artist.

Check out her song "in your arms". A stop motion video took like 2 years to complete because they use jelly beans as the background and what not. Awesome!

Clara C
Another talented singer-songwriter. If you are the type of person who pay attention to lyrics so much like I do, you will definitely love her songs. She has just released her latest album too.

I love her " camel song ". Quirky lyrics and the video is crazy awesome too!

US ( Michael Alvarado + Carrisa Rae )
This one super music couple. Both are musicians and also singer-songwriter. They just got married and pow! They really are super talented. Now they are duo with the name US.

Love their cover of "don't you worry child". So intense!

AJ Rafael
One of my inspiration. He is such a good singer-songwriter and also very active serving his church too. And I just wonder why all the Youtube musicians stay together in the same neighbourhood; they seem to have one another featured in their videos. Here's his latest single from his latest album "beautiful escape"

Pentatonix
This is group is totally on fire. Loved them since they were in that reality show for singing groups. ( apa punya show tu ah lupa sudah ) - but they are so talented! The group members are like match made in heaven and when they do song covers it all sounded magical! Damn! Nda picaya.. Dingar ni..

April Round Up

April has fly by and now May is here. It's also the kick off for the month long celebration of Harvest Festival aka Kaamatan.

April Round Up

Lots of meetings! And here some of my colleagues sitting on the floor because there were not enough chairs at that time.

..............................

I bought a very dreamy dress which I thought gonna be THE ONE. But sadly, it's too small for me. The perils of online shopping. Fret no more, this dress has found a new owner, a beautiful blushing bride in May. Glad that I have helped a friend. ( re-sell it at a lower price than I bought it )

.....................................

Also, I attended the KURSUS JURULATIH UTAMA SUKAN SENAMROBIK for peringkat negeri. Was one of the PPD Tuaran representative. So the next task is actually to hold another in-house training for teachers for PPD Tuaran level which leave me clueless. Errrr, who should organize it actually? Me or the PPD? Isn't I am supposed to just give the in-house training. Organizing part is the PPD right?

...............

In the meantime, still looking for the dress. Perfect in my eyes. Shouldn't be perfect in the eyes of others. I think I might find the dress in the nearest time. And it's gonna be perfect because it's definitely a surprise for the groom-to-be as well. ( Yeah, complying to the rule of the groom can't see the wedding dress until I walk down the aisle )

.....................

The long awaited Majlis Anugerah Cemerlang was a success. I was not very involved this year but I am so happy to see my youngest sister to be one of the excellent student as well. ^_^

............................

One of the DIY project is being executed. Yeah, it's time to get the hands dirty.

..........................

Lastly, the Unduk Ngadau Tuaran 2013 selection was done on the last weekend of April and am gonna be emceeing the Gala Nite on the 11th of May and as well as the Finals on the 21st of May.

May is SO gonna be eventful and festive. Let's get busy now!

W - is for Wednesday ( Bridal Party attire )

It's already May! Time flying by so fast. Should I start to freak out now that THE day is almost near. Anyway, my Wedding Wednesday is here to stay. Let's talk about bridal party attire.

There's so many options these days. Being a fickle minded girl I am, I just can't choose. But one thing for sure, I want the dresses for the bridesmaid are something practical and definitely can be used again for casual or formal wear next time. Not really loving the idea of something that is not use-able in the future.

1) Satin dresses
I can say this is the most favourable kind of dresses dari dulu lagi ni.

But more often than not, the girls might end up like the table cloth as well. Just gotta be careful in choosing the right shade of the material. I think my bridesmaid can't really fit well with the high shine of the satin because my bridesmaid not kicil-kicil and slim.

2) Chevron patterned dresses
Down right quirky! I like the idea. This is something sustainable because of the prints. Something different right? The only thing is the horizontal chevron lines it will emphasize wideness of the body.

3) Mismatched dresses
Like totally different dresses but in the same color hue. I really love this idea. Now the thing is to shop for it is another extra effort. Gotta bring the girls to shop together

4) Colour coded dresses
The easiest I guess. Choose a color and stick to it. My pink obsession seems to be sharing it's priority with the color yellow these days. I don't know why. Maybe it's the color of spring. It's a whole dose of sunshine here!

5) Lace dresses
And you can never go wrong with this timeless fabric. It's romantic and everything warm and fuzzy. The only downside is a good lace is quite pricey. Huhu

The top 5 that really caught my attention are all those above. Anyway, options are endless. Keep your options open and don't be afraid to try something new. Have a great Wednesday all! Happy Labour Day too!
